Former cricketer Ajay Jadeja has surpassed Virat Kohli when it comes to net worth. Ajay Jadeja’s net worth reportedly is ₹1,450 crore while Virat’s net worth is around ₹ 1000 crore. The increase in Jadeja’s net worth comes after he was named the heir to the Jamnagar Royal Throne in Gujarat. The announcement was made by Maharaja Jamsaheb of Nawanagar on Dussehra.
Maharaja Jamsaheb’s statement read, “The festival of Dussehra is believed to mark the day the Pandavas emerged victorious from exile. Today, on Dussehra, I am equally happy, as I have found a resolution to one of my dilemmas thanks to Ajay Jadeja, who has accepted to be my heir.” He added, “Ajay Jadeja taking up the responsibility of serving the people of Jamnagar is truly a boon for its people. I express my sincere gratitude to him.”
Ajay played 15 Tests and 196 ODIs for India between 1992 and 2000. He is related to cricketers K. S. Ranjitsinhji and K. S. Duleepsinhji, who were also members of the Nawanagar royal family. Their contributions to the game were so much that two major Indian domestic tournaments were named after them—the Ranji Trophy and the Duleep Trophy.
Due to his alleged involvement in match fixing, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) life banned him from cricket on 3 June 2000. His ban was later reduced to five years. On 27 January 2003, while a Delhi court lifted the ban, Jadeja was not able to play again for Indian cricket team. He is now a commentator and a mentor to the Afghanistan cricket team.
