From Riyan Parag to Abhishek Sharma, it was refreshing to see many youngsters leaving a mark with their talent in IPL 2024

The IPL 2024 came to end on Sunday with Kolkata Knight Riders lifting the trophy. Batting first, Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to score only 113 which was chased down by KKR in just 10.3 overs. The hard-fought tournament saw 10 teams pitted against each other. There were some very close finishes and many powerful performances. It was refreshing to see many youngsters leaving a mark with their talent. Here’s a look at a few of them:

Riyan Parag (567 runs)

He is just 22 but he stood tall on the 22 yards scoring 567 runs (so far) with an average of 53. His incredible run helped Rajasthan Royals qualify for the playoffs.

 

Sai Sudarahan (527 runs)


He made 527 runs in the 12 games he played for Gujarat Titans (GT) this year. With an average of 47.91 and a strike rate of 141.29, he was in peak form. While GT, didn’t make it to the playoffs, we are sure to see a lot more of him in the near future.

Abhishek Sharma (470 runs)

 

Playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Abhishek Sharma has scored 484 runs so far this season with an average of 36. What has stood out in his batting is his strike rate of 204.

 

Harshit Rana (17 wickets)

 

With 19 wickets, Harshit was the 5th leading wicket taker in IPL 2024. His contribution with the bowl helped KKR win the trophy.

 

Mathersha Pathirana (13 wickets)


In just 6 matches he played for CSK this year, Mathersha was able to take 13 wickets. His economy rate was just 7.6 which is rather impressive considering how so many runs have been scored this season.
