A visit to a Mumbai restaurant took a wild turn for a Bandra-based businessman as he reportedly got his BMW Z4 car, worth around Rs 80 lakh stollen. The incident occurred in the early hours of October 27 in Bastian, a fine-dining restaurant owned by actor Shilpa Shetty.

According to Mumbai Police, the complainant, Ruhan Khan, 34, has alleged that his car was parked in the basement and that the keys were handed over to the restaurant’s employees. Two unknown individuals then went to the basement and escaped with his car.

An officer said, “Khan and his friend visited the restaurant at around 1 am on Saturday. He parked the vehicle and handed over the keys to the employees working as valets at the entrance.” After that, Khan asked the valet to get his car after the eatery closed around 4 am.

Khan’s statement read, “But as the valet did not bring my car for a long time, I went to enquire about it. I was informed that they were unable to find my car at the spot where it was parked.”

When Khan later checked the CCTV footage of the parking lot, it was found that two unidentified individuals arrived in another vehicle and escaped with the BMW.

According to reports, authorities are now examining the road surveillance cameras in the area to track the BMW’s movements and identify the accused. A case has been filed under Section 303(2) of the BNS Act.

Shilpa Shetty’s restaurant is located on the 48th floor of Kohinoor Square in Dadar.
