New mom Deepika Padukone recently shared her experiences of postpartum challenges following the birth of her daughter. Last month, Deepika and her husband, actor Ranveer Singh, welcomed their first child, a baby girl. During a conversation with entrepreneur and media magnate Arianna Huffington at the Live Love Laugh Foundation Lecture series for World Mental Health Day 2024, Deepika opened up about feeling sleep-deprived, burnt out, and stressed.

“When you are sleep-deprived or burnt out, the decisions that you make are affected. I can actually feel it. On particular days when I am feeling stressed or burnt out because I haven't slept enough or practiced my self-care rituals, I can tell that my decision-making is getting affected to some extent,” Deepika revealed. The video of their conversation was shared by The Quint.

In the same conversation, Deepika discussed how people often hold onto negative emotions, particularly criticism. She highlighted the importance of learning from these experiences rather than letting them weigh you down. “It's absolutely normal and human to feel pain, anger, and some of these extreme emotions. The larger picture is how do you deal with that criticism and how do you use it positively to work on yourself. You will have to put in the work and be patient,” she said.

Deepika and Ranveer officially announced the arrival of their daughter on September 8. The couple, who got married in November 2018 in Italy, are now adjusting to their new roles as parents.

Both Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are set to appear in Rohit Shetty's upcoming film, Singham Again. However, at the trailer launch event on Monday, Deepika was notably absent. When asked about her absence, Ranveer explained, “Deepika toh baby ke saath busy hai. Toh aa nahi payi. Meri duty night ko hai, toh main aa gaya (Deepika is busy with the baby. So she couldn't make it. My duty is at night. So I have come).”

In addition to Deepika and Ranveer, Singham Again features an ensemble cast including Ajay Devgn, Arjun Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Jackie Shroff and Tiger Shroff. The film is set to release this Diwali.
