Capital Games
2025 · TV-MA · Drama, Comedy · Dir. Sumukhi Suresh
A sharp, very funny first season about money and ambition that loses some of its bite as it scales up — still one of the smartest Indian comedies streaming.
Season Scores
Capital Games is the rare workplace comedy that actually understands the workplace it's satirising. Set inside a fictional Bengaluru fintech start-up, its first season is a beautifully observed ensemble piece about the gap between the slide-deck version of a company and the people frantically holding it together.
Sumukhi Suresh is a revelation as the founder who has read every leadership book and internalised none of them, and the writers' room clearly knows exactly which corporate rituals to skewer — the all-hands, the 'we're a family' speech, the 90-day pivot.
Season two is where the cracks show. The show trades its tight, single-office focus for an expansion-and-funding arc that scatters the cast and dilutes the jokes; what was a scalpel becomes a slightly blunt instrument. It's still funnier than almost anything else in the space, but the season-one magic — eight near-perfect episodes — proves hard to bottle twice.
Start with season one and you'll be hooked. Season two is worth a watch for the cast alone, even when the writing is coasting.
