Kangana Ranaut allegedly slapped by CISF constable at Chandigarh airport for 'disrespecting farmers'

Newly elected BJP MP and renowned actor Kangana Ranaut was reportedly slapped by a CISF constable, Kulwinder Kaur, at Chandigarh Airport. The incident occurred on June 6, 2024, as Ranaut was preparing to board a flight to Delhi. The altercation allegedly stemmed from Ranaut’s previous controversial comments about farmers, particularly during the 2020-21 protests against the now-repealed farm laws.
Eyewitnesses recount that Ranaut attempted to bypass security protocols, leading to a confrontation with CISF personnel. According to sources, Kaur, incensed by Ranaut’s past remarks on farmers, confronted her, resulting in a physical exchange. After slapping Ranaut, Kaur reportedly stated that it was for “disrespecting farmers,” reflecting the deep-seated emotions surrounding the agricultural protests.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has acknowledged the incident and initiated an internal investigation. The CISF emphasised that they do not condone any form of misconduct by their personnel and are committed to upholding the highest standards of professional conduct. Meanwhile, Ranaut has demanded an official apology from the CISF, maintaining that her rights were violated during the incident.
