The Indian men cricket team had a horrible day as they bowled out for a meagre score of 46 runs in Bengaluru. It was their lowest ever test score on Indian soil. Their previous lowest score was 75 against West Indies in Delhi. That was way back in 1987. Virat Kohli, Sarfaraz Khan, KL Rahul, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin were out for 0. It was the first time in world cricket since 1888 that five out of a team’s top eight batters were dismissed for a duck. Rishabh Pant was the top scorer as he made 20 runs.

The Kiwis used the overcast conditions perfectly as the ball was swinging and moving a lot. Matt Henry took 5 wickets while Will O’Rourke took 4. India were bowled out in the 32nd over.

When New Zealand came out to bat, the conditions had improved as the sun was out. They managed to score 180/3 at stumps on Day 2. Devon Conway missed his hundred by 9 wickets as he was dismissed by Ashwin. New Zealand now have a lead of 134 runs. India will have to come back very strongly to save this match. The first day of the match was washed out due to rain.
