The trailer of Jr NTR’s upcoming film Devara Part 1 was launched today in Mumbai. The film features Jr NTR portraying two characters, the titular father and his son. Helmed by Koratala Siva, the film also stars Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan.
At the trailer launch of the film, Jr NTR said, “I'm very nervous because after RRR, this is my next film. RRR was with my co-actor Ram Charan. This is my solo release after six years. There is a lot of nervousness building up, but I’m very happy to launch the trailer of Devara in the city of Mumbai because the experience we had when we were promoting RRR was just surreal. I mean, the acceptance from the North has shocked us all, and I hope it repeats with Devara.”
He revealed that the film’s journey began when Koratala Siva narrated him the “phenomenal idea” before the release of RRR.
The actor couldn’t stop raving about the film’s ending. He stated, “I’m sure Karan sir will agree that the last 40 minutes of the film is going to rock you all. I can’t wait for people to watch the vision of my director. There’s also that sequence of me riding on the shark. I hated shooting for it! It took a lot of time. I was in a 200×150 tank, which was about five and a half feet. It took almost one day to get it right!”
He added, “We shot for about 38 days underwater and about 60 days over water. So 80-100 days were gone in that, to mount phenomenal action sequences which you’ve never seen before.”
Devara Part 1 is slated to release on September 27. Jr NTR's last solo release was Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava back in 2018.
