Carlos Alcaraz emerged victorious in the semi-final clash against Jannik Sinner. He was 2 sets to 1 down before shifting momentum in the 4th set. Alcaraz will be playing his first French Open Final on Sunday. Alcaraz won 2-6, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

Sinner won the 1st set easily 6-2. He broke early in the second set too and Alcaraz was on spot of bother. However, the Spaniard bounced back in incredibly and broke Sinner’s serve twice to win the second set 6-3. It was set a piece before Sinner won the third set 6-3 and looked on course to win the match. But Alcaraz upped his game to win the fourth set 6-4. His momentum continued in the last set too as he won 6-3.

After the match, Alcaraz acknowledged that it was one of the most significant challenges of his career. “You have to find the joy in suffering… Even more so on clay, here at Roland Garros,” Interestingly, 11 years ago, another Spaniard named Rafael Nadal had that exact thing to say, after beating a great rival of his (Novak Djokovic) in a 5-set semifinal.
