Ranveer Allahbadia reveals receiving death threats amid controversy; ‘Feeling scared, not running away’

Youtuber Ranveer Allahbadia has issued a fresh statement amid the controversy that was sparked when his comments on India’s Got Latet got viral last week. Ranveer had asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have s*x every day for the rest of your life or join in once and stop it forever.”In the statement, he has revealed that he is ‘getting death threats’ and is ‘feeling scared’. He also wrote that he is not running away.
The statement read, “My team and I are cooperating with the police and all other authorities. I will follow due process and be available to all agencies. My remark about parents was insensitive and disrespectful. It is my moral responsibility to do better and I am genuinely sorry. I’m watching death threats pour in from people saying that they want to kill me and hurt my family. People have invaded my mother’s clinic posing as patients. I’m feeling scared and I don’t know what to do. But I’m not running away. I have full faith in the police and the judicial system of India.”
According to reports, the Mumbai Police has asked him to appear before them on Saturday as part of a probe into his controversial remarks. It is believed that earlier on Friday, teams of Mumbai and Assam police visited his residence but found the flat locked.
