Robert Downey Jr is one of the most popular actors thanks to the Iron Man character that he played for MCU. Now, as you might be aware, RDJ will be returning to MCU as the villain Doctor Doom. Fans seem to be really excited for his new character. One of them shared his old clip of Iron Man audition. Wearing a suit, he can be seen answering some questions in one scene while in the other we can see him having an emotional exchange. Talking about Doctor Doom, his character comes from the comic world of Fantastic Four. According to reports, he will be introduced in Pedro Pascal’s film set in the 60s, Fantastic Four: First Steps. Later, he will be seen in his solo film Avengers: Doctor Doom. The film will be directed by Russo Brothers.
Avengers: Doomsday will go on floors in the second quarter of 2025 in London, and is scheduled to release on May 1, 2026.
The buzz is that Downey stands to earn an estimated $200 million for his return because of his popularity and the way in which he portrayed Iron Man. He has a strong screen presence and his comic timing is also pretty great.
Interestigly, in an interview with Jodie Foster for Variety's Actors on Actors, RDJ had spoken about returning as Iron Man. “It’s just crazily in my DNA. Probably the most like-me character I’ve ever played, even though he’s way cooler than I am. I’ve become surprisingly open-minded to the idea.”
