Elon Musk takes U-turn on posts about Donald Trump; says ‘Went too far’

Elon Musk seems to have a change of heart on what he posted on X about United States President Donald Trump last week. Musk and Trump had engaged in a public spat after the Tesla and SpaceX CEO left his role in the government and criticised the Republican party’s new tax bill proposal.

In one of the posts, Musk had alleged that Donald Trump is on the infamous Jeffrey Epstein files. He had implied that this is why the government is not releasing the documents to the public.Trump posted on his own platform X, “I regret some of my posts about President Donald Trump last week. They went too far.”

Elon Musk and Donald Trump were very close to each other last year. Musk played a pivotal role in making sure Trump won the US elections.

Cracked appeared in their partnership when Musk citicised the Republican’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act” and lambasted it as “outrageous, pork-filled” and a “disgusting abomination,” urging GOP lawmakers to “kill” it.

Now, when asked by reporters if he plans to speak to Musk, the US President said, “I haven’t really thought about it actually. I would imagine he wants to speak to me. If I were him, I would want to speak to me. Maybe he’s already called. You’d have to ask him. We had a good relationship and I just wish him well, very well actually.”

With Musk now ‘regretting’ his ‘critical’ posts, it looks like their fight might cool down and their equation will improve.
